Dear colleagues and friends,
this year we are very honored to be hosting the 4th EASAPS annual meeting in Milan immediately after the Annual Meeting of the Italian Society this year. 2011 is a special anniversary for Plastic Surgery in Milan, as the last Italian Society Annual Meeting held here was 25 years ago so we can celebrate this “silver anniversary” together with our friends from all over Europe with the joined meetings.
We will include Italian/English simultaneous translation on Thursday 29th September and the morning of Friday 30th September (SICPRE meeting) and will continue to translate the EASAPS meeting on Friday afternoon to unite the two meetings and allow space for sharing and comparing information and techniques.
It will be my pleasure to welcome you all to my home city Milan, so I am looking forward to seeing you all in September.
Andrea Grisotti
Congress President

Dear colleagues,
Dear Sir or Madam,
This year, the 4th annual meeting of the European Association of Societies of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (EASAPS) will be held in Milan in conjunction with the 60th Annual Meeting of the Italian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SICPRE).
Since the foundation of our Association in 2006 our original goals as “to organize, promulgate and disseminate an interchange of knowledge and ideas between all European national societies or associations of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery” for the benefit of our specialty has evolved. We are currently working towards European aesthetic plastic surgical guidelines in order to establish pan-European standards and to protect the well-being of all patients seeking aesthetic plastic surgery.
To attain this goal not only political but also scientific international cooperation is essential. Combining the annual EASAPS meeting with a national meeting of a member society has proven to be most successful, sparking scientific discussions and strengthening personal friendships.
This year’s main topics are “Aging of the body and face” and “Breast enlargement”, two absolutely up-to-date issues in our daily work. As aesthetic surgeons, we encounter signs of ageing constantly and strive to improve these changes for the benefit of our patients. Breast enlargement is one of the most sought after procedures and receives wide and sometimes controversial attention by the patients and the media. Recently, breast enlargement has experienced additional impetus through the introduction of new techniques like autologous fat grafting or large volume filler materials. Dr. Grisotti has assembled a very ambitious program which guarantees stimulating discussions. Additionally, the “Voice of Europe” session, which has already become a famous tradition, will certainly be another highlight.
Coming from Italy myself, I am well aware of the beauty of Milan since my childhood. This city will provide the perfect background for an Aesthetic Surgery Congress. I am looking forward to a top of the edge meeting and inspiring discussions together with national and international guests.
It will be my pleasure to see you in Milan.
Yours Sincerely,
Norbert Pallua, MD, PhD, FEBOPRAS
President of the EASAPS
